Hardy Dog Park

Oakland

Fenced, shade, water, poop bags, seating, and parking. Claremont Ave. at Hudson St., Oakland (Rockridge District), California, USA. Directions: under the freeway (Hwy 24) on Claremont between College Ave & Telegraph Ave. - good rainy day spot since it is covered. Ohlone Dog Park

Berkeley

Hearst Street, between Martin Luther King and Grant. Hours: 7am - 10pm This area is fenced has tables, handicap access, poop bags, trees, water and trash cans . This park is known for being very well-maintained and dog-friendly. MAP
Caesar Chavez Park

Berkeley Marina

The large area is not fenced. The path from the street to the off leash meadow in the back is on-leash, so be mindful of the signs. The park has poop bags, trees, parking, phones, restrooms....and beautiful views. This 20 plus acre park is a dog park that is not completely fenced, but has paved paths, grass and beach access to the bay. Owners should take note that part of this park is close to the highway. It is the largest dog park in the Bay Area and includes a dog bathing place called "Mudpuppy's" which also has dog toys and treats! Other activities include bay fishing, jogging/ running trails, birdwatching, kite flying and picnicking. From I-80 (the Eastshore Freeway) in Richmond, take Central Avenue west to Point Isabel, adjacent to the U.S. Postal Service Bulk Mail Center and Costco.  www.pido.org MAP
Washington Square Dog Park

Washington Square Park. This park has recently been reopened and enlarged. 5 acre area, fenced, water nearby, paid parking meters, restrooms. From Oakland, through Webster Street Tube down Webster. Left at Encinal, right at 8th St. Parking metered lot near tennis courts. Dog run area is visible from the roadway.  members.home.net/alamedadogpark/ MAP

IMPORTANT TO ALL DOG OWNERS WHO USE PIEDMONT PARKS: YOU MUST OBTAIN A SPECIAL DOG PARK PERMIT AND TAG FOR YOUR DOG AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Dracena Park

Piedmont

Located at Blair and Dracena.  Off leash area is in the narrow Redwood Canyon, the grassy lawns are on-leash. No water, poop bags and cans are at either end of the trail. In the middle of a residential neighborhood, so make sure your dog is quiet in the early mornings at late at night. MAP

Linda Dog Park

Located on Linda Avenue up from Grand, across from Beach School. Like Dracena, this park is adjacent to a residential neighborhoods. The issue of dog play noise has been a long standing complaint with neighbors, so be mindful of your dog if it tends to be on the "talkative" side.  Good sunny day place. Lots of dogs and interesting people. Very muddy when it rains. MAP

Highland Avenue/Community Center Park

Piedmont

Located across from Police Station in downtown Piedmont. Large lawn is on-leash, but the canyon behind the center is off-leash. Paved, hilly walking trails parralell a creek that runs year round. Poop bags and can at either end of the trails. No fountain -- plenty of water in the creek. MAP

San Lorenzo Community Park

San Lorenzo

Fenced half-acre site on the west side of the 30-acre park. Located at 1970 Via Buena Vista. From 880 take Hesperian exit. Turn Right at Bokman St. Left at Via Carmen follow road around to the right and road will eventually dead end at the San Lorenzo Community park.
